Hello, my name is Jim.

Using a catheter has been part of my life for the last 14 years.

After the accident I was sent home. It took me a while to understand and get used to my new apparatus and lifestyle. It took a few months before I realized this was now me and it would be me for the rest of my life, so what would I do? That was a question that took me almost a year to answer.

I was not going to give up or give in. I set challenges and goals and now it was like putting on a pair of socks or shoes, it almost became second nature.

Wearing a catheter came with some limitations. Biking, hiking and a few other things were not only uncomfortable, but also awkward.

It wasn’t until I had the pleasure of taking to Gallian, a Coloplast Care Advisor that things changed for the better. Gallian introduced me to the Conveen® Optima external catheter and wow! That made a big difference!

I now use the Conveen® Optima as my primary apparatus and I have never been happier. Using external catheters has allowed me to be more active. I am now able to get back on my bike with no discomfort.
