Even though life with a stoma isn’t always straightforward, it should never hold you back from living the life you want to lead.

Coloplast Care is a support programme for people with a stoma which offers advice and inspiration for your daily life. Not only that, but signing up to Coloplast Care provides you access to the Ostomy Check – an online tool to help identify any issues you’re having and provides solutions and advice to help.

In order for us to provide the most useful advice for your needs, choose the stoma type that you have:

    What is a urostomy?

    If you are unable to pass urine naturally, a possible solution is to create an alternative opening in your body for the urine to be diverted through. This is called a urostomy.

    If, for some reason, your large intestine has been removed or if it needs to rest for a period, you will need an artificial opening of the small intestine (Called a stoma or an ostomy) for the faeces to pass through. This is called an ileostomy.

    If, for some reason, your rectum or a lower part of your colon has been removed or if it needs to rest for a period, you will need an artificial opening of the large intestine (Called a stoma or an ostomy) for the faeces to pass through. This is called a colostomy.
