Many people with an ostomy find comfort in talking to their family or close friends, but it can also be very helpful to talk to someone with similar experiences about life with an ostomy. Ask your ostomy nurse if it might be possible to put you in contact with others who share the same experience.

A good place to start could be to contact the United Ostomy Association of America (UOAA) at www.ostomy.org. Check their support group finder page. Also see below for more groups or events that may be of interest to you, depending on your situation.
