There is a better way to go

Are you suffering from fecal incontinence or chronic constipation due to neurogenic bowel dysfunction (NBD)? Meet Peristeen Plus Transanal Irrigation (TAI) System - a treatment option that can help reduce fecal incontinence and constipation, and improve your symptom-related quality of life.1,2

Transanal irrigation with Peristeen Plus is an easy procedure designed to instill water into the colon through a rectal catheter with an inflatable balloon to empty the contents of the lower colon. This effective method of bowel management gives confidence and control through effective and predictable prevention of fecal incontinence and constipation.3

Peristeen Plus and transanal irrigation: what you need to know

Transanal irrigation using Peristeen Plus is designed to empty your bowels. The Peristeen Plus procedure can be administered on your own or with assistance, and it enables you to decide when and where you want to empty your bowels.

Peristeen Plus Transanal Irrigation System was built on the legacy of Peristeen, clinically equivalent with the same efficacy and safety profile as Peristeen. In documented studies and clinical trials with both adults and children, Peristeen system reduced fecal incontinence, constipation and improved symptom related QoL. Transanal irrigation with Peristeen Plus is an effective alternative to other methods such as enemas, laxatives, suppositories, manual evacuation and digital stimulation. Transanal irrigation helps to:
- reduce constipation
- reduce incontinence
- reduce time spent on bowel management

The procedure is performed by introducing lukewarm water between 34°C-40°C into the rectum using a rectal catheter while sitting on the toilet. As water is introduced into your colon through a rectal catheter with an inflatable balloon, this promotes evacuation of the contents of the lower colon. Water and stool are then emptied into the toilet. If carried out daily or every other day, the technique may help you stay continent for up to 48 hours.Podmiana kolor.jpg
